Botox (onabotulinumtoxinA) and other neuromodulators — Dysport, Xeomin, Daxxify — temporarily relax the muscles responsible for dynamic wrinkles: the lines that form from repeated facial expressions like squinting, frowning, and raising the brows. The treatment takes minutes, requires no downtime, and results last 3–5 months.

What to Expect
From first consultation through maintenance, here's how the Botox experience works at Sergay Dermatology.
Consultation
Dr. Sergay evaluates your facial anatomy, reviews your goals, and discusses which areas and products will give you the best outcome. First-time patients receive a thorough orientation to what realistic results look like.
Treatment
Tiny injections are administered with a fine needle. Most patients describe it as a quick pinch. The full treatment takes 15–30 minutes. No anesthesia is needed, though a topical numbing cream can be applied if preferred.
Immediate Aftercare
Avoid lying flat and vigorous exercise for 4 hours post-treatment. Minor redness or pinpoint bruising may occur at injection sites. No rubbing or massaging the treated areas for 24 hours.
Results Develop
Botox doesn't work instantly. Results begin appearing within 3–5 days and reach full effect at 2 weeks. A follow-up appointment can be scheduled to evaluate results and address any asymmetry.
Maintenance
Results typically last 3–5 months. Regular treatment helps train muscles and may extend the interval between sessions over time. Many patients find results improve with consistent treatment.

Amanda Sergay, MD is a board-certified dermatologist committed to excellence in comprehensive dermatological care. Originally from the Tampa area, Dr. Sergay received her undergraduate degree from Emory University and earned her medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
She completed her residency in dermatology at Mount Sinai St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York City, where she served as Chief Resident during her final year. Her practice encompasses medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology, treating both adults and children.
