About the Treatment
What is LaseMD Ultra?
LaseMD ULTRA (also called Lutronic ULTRA) is a skin resurfacing treatment that rebuilds glowing, healthy skin. The non-ablative fractional laser uses energy to create tiny microchannels just below the skin surface. By inflicting controlled damage on skin, these microchannels kick-start the body's natural wound-healing response and, in the process, boost production of collagen and elastin.
For even better results, the microchannels created by the laser can also act like a delivery system straight to the deeper layers of skin. As a result, any serums layered on immediately after treatment — such as those that contain antioxidants, peptides, or growth factors — can better penetrate, thereby maximizing their efficacy.
LaseMD ULTRA can rejuvenate the skin to improve fine lines, wrinkles, acne, melasma, hyperpigmentation, dark spots, sunspots, freckles, and signs of sun damage. It can be used anywhere on the body — face, neck, chest, hands, and arms.

Your Treatment Journey
What to Expect
LaseMD Ultra treatments are comfortable, fast, and designed to fit into your schedule. Dr. Sergay personally performs every procedure and customizes each session to your unique skin goals.
Because the laser energy works beneath the skin surface while leaving the outer layer intact, infection risk is very low and recovery is straightforward.

Step 01
Before Your Treatment
During your consultation, Dr. Sergay will assess your skin concerns, review your history, and design a personalized LaseMD Ultra treatment plan. A topical anesthesia cream is applied approximately 20 minutes before the procedure begins. Avoid sun exposure and irritating skincare products for at least one week prior to your appointment.
Step 02
During the Treatment Session
The LaseMD Ultra treatment itself typically takes about 20 minutes, with total office time for a face and neck running around 1 to 1.25 hours. The laser delivers thulium energy through micro-channels beneath the skin surface, leaving the outer layer intact. Most patients find the treatment comfortable throughout.
Step 03
Immediately After & Recovery
Downtime varies based on your treatment intensity. For a light glow or melasma treatment, downtime is minimal. For sun damage, lines, and wrinkles, expect a few hours of pinkness and mild swelling followed by a sandpaper-like texture for no more than 7 days. There is no bleeding, blistering, or scabbing. You can resume makeup and most of your skincare the following day.
Step 04
How Many Sessions Will I Need?
Two to three treatments are recommended for the best results. You will notice improvement after your first session, with continued progress after completing your customized series. Many patients schedule follow-up maintenance sessions every 6 to 12 months to sustain their results long-term. Dr. Sergay will build a realistic timeline based on your individual skin goals.
Step 05
Melasma & Special Considerations
LaseMD Ultra can effectively treat melasma, but no laser is a permanent fix for this chronic condition. A consistent skincare routine and daily broad-spectrum SPF are essential to maintaining results. It is absolutely critical to avoid sun exposure after any melasma treatment session. Dr. Sergay will guide you on the right aftercare protocol for your specific condition.
