Microneedling can improve skin tone and texture, acne scars, fine lines and wrinkles, and reduce discoloration. Also, surgical scars, acne scars can improve without the downtime associated with some lasers.

The number of treatments needed varies with each patient depending on skin type and the specific goal. After the first treatment, skin will be softer and smoother but additional improvement can be noted over the first few weeks to months after treatment.

A numbing cream is applied to the skin for 30 minutes prior to the procedure, and the procedure itself takes between 15 and 30 minutes. Most patients return to normal activities within 24 hours.
